The best way to search a company in the Coface database is by company name; the result will correspond to one word, or several words, in the current or historical name of the company. It is also possible to search by street name, house number, post code and town. The algorithm in use is “starts with”.
Tips for the user:
It is not advisable to carry out a search on a street name without the post code or the town.
If the name is sufficiently distinct and unique, it may be enough. If not, try to add address criteria in order to limit the number of results. Avoid the words like 'entreprise', 'établissements', 'frères', 'fils', 'Co' or the legal forms like 'SA', 'SPRL' , …
Pay special attention to the names that have different forms (e.g.: 'Vandendael' and 'Van en dael'; 'Dupont' and 'Dupond' ). These searches will give very different results.
If you know the post code and the town, use the post code first.
The more criteria you fill, the more chance you have to obtain a short and quick answer.
If your search gives no result, try to reduce the criteria: or you can remove one of your criteria, or try to simplify it (e.g.: try 'Ney' rather than 'Rue Maréchal Ney').
